Each EU member state has its own level of development, industries that have developed to different extents, and specific growth and inequality challenges. Consequently, support is allocated to different member states based on their specific levels of development and commitment to EU policies.
3. Is the largest donor of official development assistance:
Joining forces at European level has proved effective in many ways
- Due to its unique position, the EU can take action where single countries cannot make as much difference.
-The EU programmes stretch over several years, thus mobilising long-term and predictable aid.
-The EU plays a role in coordinating the actions of the different donors
